Rajamallu Education Society is a charitable non governmental organisation named after the illustrious son of the soil, the late Shri Kodati Rajamallu. He was a highly regarded political leader of integrity and honesty of purpose. Sri Rajamallu rose from humble beginnings. His parents were workers in the Singareni colliery in the area. He went on to fight for workers’ rights as a labour union leader. He became a natural choice of the economically backward classes which has a large representation in the population in the area. He was elected as the people’s representative from Chennur constituency for the first State Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh after India became independent in 1947. His high level of integrity and untiring efforts towards the up liftment of the weaker sections of the society.
